During June I had the opportunity of going to Victoria to meet and work with Rhonda Hunt (Faeries with Attitude, the Victorian Distributer for Powertex).
The day we met we hit the Galleries of Melbourne, in particular the NGV, to see the Fred Williams Exhibition...which was a great way to begin...as the exhibition was fantastic! Rhonda was very welcoming and full of energy and enthusiasm. We went to one of her favourite places for lunch, just off Flinders Lane. I loved the atmosphere of the little coffee houses and shopfronts down the small laneways....and the Graffiti art was amazing! By the time we got to Churchill we were exhausted! We chilled out the following day... as we knew that the days to come were guaranteed to be crazy busy...which they were! Mel arrived for training and we spent a couple of days working together with Rhonda in her studio. It was fantastic to see Rhonda in action and her experience with Powertex was inspiring! I loved the time I spent with her, Ken and Willow (the cat) in their home full of sculptures, nicknacks and family heirlooms. It was an incredibly peaceful environment that reflected Rhonda's personality beautifully. Following Mel's training I ran a Powerprint workshop on the Saturday with a few girls....pictured above (from left to right) - Mary, me, Val, Norah, Mel, Sharon and Rhonda. It was a great day and everyone produced some excellent work. I have pictured Val's 'Leopard' and Norah's 'Penguins' below. Also pictured: Rhonda & I and Rhonda in her studio.
