Rhonda Hunt, Churchill VIC
Hi, my name is Rhonda Hunt and I create quirky creatures in polymer clay and fabulous fabric sculptures made with Powertex. My work includes mixed media pieces, sculptures of all kind and art dolls, it focuses on both fantasy and mythical creatures.
Having dabbled in many different crafts over the years, including embroidery, patchwork, felting, quilting, lead-lighting, sewing, scrap booking, decoupage cloth doll making and polymer clay creations, I discovered fabric sculptures several years ago at a craft market, and have been addicted ever since.
After many years in the disability and community services sector, I have decided it was time for a change and am pursuing my passion for art and craft, and am very pleased to be the Victorian Distributor and Master Trainer with Powertex.
Wanting to extend my knowledge of working in this medium, several years ago I completed a Trainers course to be able to demonstrate the amazing results of working with this technique. I take great satisfaction in seeing the wonderful sculptures completed by my students in workshops. Powertex is such a fantastic medium to work with. You able to incorporate so many objects, other materials, recycled fabrics into your works. Such an environmentally conscious art form!! A Powertex workshop is a great way to explore your creativity!!
I am now teaching the Certified Powertex Training Course, for those wanting to take their passion for fabric sculpture to the next level by becoming Trainers themselves. I also have Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training. Workshops are held regularly throughout Gippsland and at the Churchill studio, and I also attend many major craft markets and events. Have a look at the website and facebook page for the latest information.
