The Craft & Quilt Fair has been AWESOME! Thankyou to everyone who has attended and spoken to us at the stand. The Powerprint Workshop has been attended by so many people that we have had standing room only each day and the Craft Circle has usually been booked out by 9.30 or 10am each morning! I have had so match positive feedback that I can't begin to remember it all...but one of my favourite comments was made during the Craft Circle when a participant came up to me and said "I haven't had so much fun since I played with plasticine at Kindy"!!!! When I repeated the comment to the group everyone laughed and agreed! I've had fun & I know that many of you have too! I look forward to catching up again at future workshops.
Warm Wishes

Importer & WA Distributer for Powertex Australia
| | I would like to welcome our NEW Powertex Distributer & Trainer Kerrie Cribb who will be bringing Powertex to Western Australia's Midwest! Kerrie has had an avid interest in art throughout her life...and has leant her hand to many things over the years (click here to read more). |
I had the privilege of training Kerrie earlier this year and getting to know her. She has taken to Powertex like a 'duck to water' and is so excited about the potential of this versatile medium for creating artworks. Kerrie has reflected something of my own thoughts, when talking with me about Powertex, saying that 'the sky is the limit ... I love it'! She is a powerhouse of enthusiasm which you will find contagious! Her experience in the Arts is obvious in her work.
For those of you who reside in the Midwest and are looking for something new...you will have a great teacher and mentor when you attend her workshops!
I look forward to working with Kerrie in the future and wish her all the best in her new endeavour!

Method # 1: Mix Powercolour and Transparent Powertex
1 x 40ml jar of Powercolour usually colours 1lt of Transparent PTX. Powercolour is a highly refined, quality art pigment that can easily be hand mixed into Powertex to make a diverse range of colours. To avoid granulation and to achieve an even, rich colour mix the Powercolour into a paste before adding it to the Powertex. This can be done by adding a VERY small amount of water to the Powercolour until it becomes a creamy consistency. Once this is achieved simply add the paste to the Transparent Powertex and mix thoroughly. Reduce the percentage of Powercolour to add to smaller amounts of Powertex i.e. 1/2 jar Powercolour: 1/2 lt Powertex.
Method # 2: Add Powercolour to Easy Coat or Easy Varnish
Powercolour can be added in small quantities to our Powertex painting mediums enabling an artist to mix a wide range of colours that can be used to embellish their artwork. Realistic stone effects can be achieved when used in conjunction with Stone Art.
Above: Bronze Powertex has been used as the base colour & it is pictured being embellished with green Powercolour & Easy Varnish. Learn more Brush Techniques in our workshops that are held throughout Australia.
# 3: Use Powercolour Dry
Powercolour can be used as a dry pigment sprinkled onto wet Powertex: Take a small amount of Powercolour & sprinkle it onto the desired surface, this may be a slab of Stone Art (pictured below) or a painting. The pigment is quite 'powdery' and 'loose' so it is necessary to 'fix' it after 2-3 weeks with a spray varnish. You can also experiment with other ways to 'fix' it during the working process, for example you could try using a fine mist spray nozzle to spray Easy Coat Medium onto the work after you have applied the Powercolour. This process can result in some 'happy accidents' where the pigments run & mix! Experimental play with the media...for 'Arts Sake'....is FUN!!!
A wide range of Powertex products will be available for purchase in Australia within the next couple of weeks....It's going to be exciting when it all finally arrives!
If you have specific requirements for a Powertex product that is not currently available please let me know and I'll look at getting it in stock for you!
